Can There Be Art Without an Audience?
Art is a product of the active creation of man, so there must be at least one person involved in the process of making and viewing a piece of art. But, does Art require a another party to distinguish a work as such? The slide show linked has photos of people viewing the Frieze Art Fair in London. Does the exhibition add to the art’s value as a piece of ‘Artwork’? Photography is an artform, is it not? So though these pictures are capturing the viewing of Art, could one consider the photographs themselves to be a works of Art?
