WHEREVER EYES GO

I carry my lies

on truth’s back

and lie my truths

upon decency’s back,

withholding

what cannot hold

under eyes’ careful

weighing.  I see that

wherever I go

there I am. Me. My eyes

cannot discern what

weighs from what

carries weight

and from this lack,

lack I

the ability to discern. Fact

from fiction. Fact: I lack.

Fiction: wherever eyes go

there I am.
